Mustard seed prices moved down by Rs 4 to Rs 4,023 per quintal in futures trade today on shortening of holdings by traders in anticipation of a subdued physical market.
Market players attributed the downtick to abound availability of stocks on persistent supplies from growing regions amid thin demand for oil mills at the spot markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustard seed delivery for August faded by Rs 4 or 0.10 per cent to Rs 4,023 per quintal, with an open interest of 58,530 lots.
Also, the delivery for July shed Rupee one or 0.03 per cent to Rs 3,980 per quintal with an open interest of 99,800 lots.
