Mustard seed prices came down further by Rs 23 to Rs 4,035 per quintal in futures trade today on sustained selling by investors.
Market players said bloated stocks on endless supplies of new crops from producing belts amid confined buying by oil mills in the spot markets led to the fall in mustard seed futures for the second straight day today.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, mustard seed delivery in April contracts moved down by Rs 23, or 0.57 per cent, to Rs 4,035 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 51,340 lots.
Similarly, the delivery of May contracts eased by Rs 20, or 0.49 per cent, to Rs 4,082 per quintal with an open interest of 25,130 lots.
