Rising for the third straight day, mustardseed prices were up by another Rs 19 to Rs 4,195 per quintal in futures trading today amid a firming trend at the physical markets on strong demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, mustardseed for delivery in May month contracts gained further by Rs 19 or 0.45 per cent to Rs 4,195 per quintal, having an open interest of 35,700 lots.
Also, delivery in April contracts hardened by Rs 18, or 0.44 per cent to Rs 4,140 per quintal, with an open interest of 47,640 lots.
Marketmen said the rise in mustardseed prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to a firming trend at the spot markets on strong demand.
Besides, tight supplies from growing regions supported the upside in prices, they added.
