At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, mustardseed for most-active delivery in January plunged by Rs 53 or 1.11 per cent to Rs 4,724 per quintal, with business turnover in 39,800 open lots.
In a similar fashion, mustardseed for delivery in current month was trading lower by Rs 47, or 0.98 per cent, to Rs 4,730 per quintal, having an open interest of 23,180 lots.
Marketmen said emergence of profit-booking at existing levels coupled with shrinking demand from oil mills at the spot market, led to the fall in mustardseed prices at futures trade.
