Marketmen said rising demand in spot markets against resstricted arrivals due to off-seasonal rains, mainly pushed up the prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustardseed for far July contract hardened by Rs 71, or 2 per cent, to Rs 3,613 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 4,150 lots.
The April contract also moved up by Rs 48, or 1.39 per cent, at Rs 3,508 per quintal in 58,460 lots.
