Mustardseed prices firmed up by Rs 60 to Rs 4,889 per quintal in futures trade today after speculators built up fresh positions, triggered by a firm trend at the domestic spot markets on rising demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, mustardseed for delivery in August hardened by Rs 60, or 1.24 per cent to Rs 4,889 per quintal, having an open interest of 1,01,640 lots.
Also, mustardseed for delivery this month current July month contract gained by Rs 56, or 1.18 per cent Rs 4,803 per quinta, with an open interest of 10,500 lots.
Marketmen attributed rise in mustardseed prices to pick up in demand at the domestic spot markets and fall in arrivals from growing regions.
