Aluminium prices moved down by 0.83 per cent to Rs 154.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced exposure, driven by a fall in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in May fell by Rs 1.30, or 0.83 per cent, to Rs 154.80 per kg in business turnover of 334 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in June contracts was trading lower by Rs 1.15, or 0.74 per cent, to Rs 154.90 per kg in 7 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants amid easing demand from consuming industries in the spot market, attributed to the slide in aluminium futures.
