Cardamom prices moved down by 0.65 per cent to Rs 1,150 per kg in futures market on Friday as traders trimmed their position, tracking easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month December fell by Rs 7.50, or 0.65 per cent to Rs 1,150 per kg in a business turnover of 3 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in November traded lower by Rs 2.10, or 0.19 per cent to Rs 1,130 per kg in 14 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand in the spot market against sufficient stocks position on increased supplies from producing regions mainly led to the decline in cardamom prices at futures trade.
