However, losses were squeezed due to lower arrivals from growing regions following reports of damage to stored jeera in Gujarat due to heavy rains.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in current month fell by Rs 110, or 0.57 per cent, to Rs 19,070 per quintal with an open interest of 3,786 lots.
On similar lines, the spice for delivery in September contract traded lower by Rs 90, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 19,380 per quintal in 12,651 lots.
