At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in August month dropped by Rs 470, or 2.42 per cent to Rs 18,990 per quintal with an open interest of 14,772 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in far-month September contracts traded lower by Rs 480, or 2.42 per cent to Rs 19,340 per quintal in 11,694 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by traders on the back of subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position, mainly pulled down jeera prices at futures trade.
