Lead prices were down by 0.48 per cent to Rs 124.20 per kg in futures trading today as participants trimmed their exposure amid sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in August traded lower by 60 paise, or 0.48 per cent to Rs 124.20 per kg in business turnover of 3,576 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in September contracts eased by 55 paise, or 0.44 per cent to Rs 124.95 per kg in 184 lots.
Analysts said the weakness in lead futures was mostly attributed to offloading of positions by speculators tracking subdued demand from battery-makers at the domestic markets.
