Muted demand drags down mentha oil futures by 0.18%

Mentha oil prices declined by 0.18 per cent to Rs 882.10 per kg in futures market today as participants trimmed their exposure amid subdued demand in the spot market.
Besides, adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing regions put pressure on mentha oil prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in far-month July eased by Rs 1.60 or 0.18 per cent to Rs 882.10 per kg in a business turnover of 15 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in June contracts edged down by Rs 1.20 or 0.14 per cent to Rs 877 per kg in 169 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by traders due to low demand from consuming industries in spot market against sufficient stocks on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to the fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
