Mentha oil prices were down 0.20 per cent to Rs 864.20 per kg in futures trade today as participants trimmed their exposure amid sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in far-month July declined by Rs 1.70 or 0.20 per cent to Rs 864.20 per kg in a business turnover of 43 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in June contracts shed Rs 1.60 or 0.19 per cent to Rs 856.20 per kg in 487 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by traders due to subdued demand from consuming industries in spot market against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly led to the decline in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
