Mentha oil prices eased by 0.40 per cent to Rs 926.70 per kg in futures trade today as participants indulged in off-loading positions amid sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March traded lower by Rs 3.70, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 926.70 per kg in a business turnover of 233 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in far-month April fell by Rs 3.50, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 937.50 per kg in 45 lots.
Analysts said trimming of positions by traders on the back of subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market against adequate stocks on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh led to the decline in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
