Mentha oil prices drifted by 0.65% to Rs 829 per kg in futures trade today as participants trimmed positions, driven by sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in far-month May declined by Rs 5.40, or 0.65% to Rs 829 per kg in a business turnover of 22 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in April shed Rs 3.40, or 0.41% to Rs 819.60 per kg in 138 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in mentha oil futures to subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market against sufficient stocks on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
