Muted demand drags down zinc futures by 1.33%

Zinc prices fell by 1.33 per cent to Rs 204.45 per kg in futures trading today as traders trimmed their positions amid tepid demand at the domestic spot markets.
A the Multi Commodity exchange, zinc for delivery in December fell by Rs 2.75, or 1.33 per cent to Rs 204.45 per kg in business turnover of 389 lots.
In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in November was trading lower by Rs 2.45, or 1.18 per cent to Rs 205.40 per kg in 14,350 lots.
Analysts attributed slide in zinc futures to offloading of positions by participants due to weak demand from consuming industries in the physical market.
