Mentha oil prices softened 0.42 per cent to Rs 843.90 per kg in futures trade today as participants cut down their bets amid tepid demand from consuming industries at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March fell by Rs 3.60, or 0.42 per cent to Rs 843.90 per kg in a business turnover of 321 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in April contracts eased by Rs 2.20, or 0.26 per cent to Rs 857.40 per kg in 284 lots.
Marketmen said offloading of positions by traders due to subdued demand from consuming industries at the spot market against adequate stocks on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
