Mutual brotherhood, peace imperative for development: Azad

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad today said that mutual love and peaceful coexistence between various communities was the basic key to development.
"Mutual love and peaceful coexistence between various communities is basic key to development," Azad said, after laying the foundation stone for a 100-bed sub-district hospital at Gandoh in Doda district.
He lauded the people of the region for maintaining communal harmony and peace in the area and cautioned them against divisive forces.
While highlighting developmental initiatives taken by the coalition government for the development of the people of the Chenab region, Azad said uplifting the common people and providing them basic amenities in health, education and road sectors have received special focus.
In due course more hospitals will be established in the Chenab region, he said, adding that under the flagship NRHM programme, doctors serving in rural areas will get enhanced salary of Rs 55,000 that will serve as incentive for them to work in these areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Health Shabir Ahmed Khan thanked Azad for his concern and commitment towards uplifting the common masses, and appreciated the minister for granting approval for the implementation of Rashtriya Bal Swasytha Yojna in all districts of the state.
Earlier, Azad visited Bonjwah area of the district and held a public rally there.
