Muzaffarnagar riots work of criminals: Azam

Muzaffarnagar riots and other incidents of violence in the state were "not communal" but work of criminals, Uttar Pradesh Minister Azam Khan has said.
"Muzaffarnagar riots were not communal but criminal in nature...," the UP Urban Development Minister said yesterday while speaking to reporters at an event here.
On allegations of his involvement in the riots, Khan said he was ready to face any punishment if rulers in Delhi could prove his involvement.
"The truth regarding Muzzaffarnagar, Kanth, Saharanpur and Badaun incidents have started to come out. People have begun to realize the reality of those leaders who talked of 'achche din' (good days). They shall face drubbing in the coming elections," he said.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh PWD Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav said the claims made by BJP regarding Modi effect and 'achche din' have proven to be baseless and cited the election results in Bihar and other states as an example.
"The elections results reveal that instead of 'achche din', 'bure din' have come. The results will be similar in Uttar Pradesh," he said.

Three months after its spectacular showing in Lok Sabha polls, the BJP yesterday received a jolt in assembly by-elections suffering a 4-6 defeat at the hands of the RJD-JD(U)-Congress alliance in Bihar and yielding two strongholds to Congress in Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.

Expressing his concern over Modi's foreign policies, Yadav said: "China's infiltrations into Indian territory...Pakistan's continuous ceasefire violations along the LOC are enough to prove the failure of NDA government."
On speculations regarding Amar Singh rejoining Samajwadi Party, Yadav said neither the party nor Amar Singh have floated any such proposal. "The matter is not worth discussing," he said.
