Samajwadi Party city president Rashid Siddiqui was allegedly beaten up by some party workers during a meeting here, following which three persons were arrested.
According to the complaint lodged with the police, Siddiqui was holding a party meeting yesterday on the occasion of SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav's birthday when some people attacked the party's Muzaffarnagar city chief, Superintendent of Police (City) Pradeep Gupta said today.
A case has been registered against 15 persons under relevant sections of the IPC while three of them have been arrested, he added.
The three arrested have been identified as Babbu Khan and his two sons Anas and Salman, who are said to be local party workers.
