The 42-year-old media mogul said although her father, famously known as the 'Jumping Jack' of the '70s and '80s, might not be working in films, he is actively engaged in handling his real-estate business.
"I've asked him if he wants to (act in any of my shows) but he is quite content in his construction business. He is happy enjoying his time with his friends now. He is not acting but he is working anyway," Ekta told the reporters here.
She said Jeetendra has been working in films when he was in his early 20s and it only makes sense that he enjoys his free time now.
"He has worked in the industry from the age of 21. And there comes a time when you can only request your parents, not force them. I think he's wants to lead a relaxed life now and I think we have to give him that. He had a four-decade-long career and he starred in over 200 films to make our lives, so I think we can let him relax now," she said.
"Kundali Bhagya", which stars Dheeraj Dhoopar, Shraddha Arya, Anjum Fakih and Manit Joura, premiers on the channel on weekdays from July 12 at 9.30 PM.
