Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today ridiculed ex-CM Prem Kumar Dhumal statement that Assembly elections could be held early in the state and said his government would complete its full term, even as he didn't rule out a Cabinet reshuffle before Budget session.
"Dhumal is not an astrologer and is daydreaming. But his dreams would never be realised and my government would last full five years," he told media persons.
Singh, who is facing probe in alleged corruption cases, said the Congress government he heads is functioning well and concentrating on developmental works.
Former chief minister Dhumal had said here yesterday that Assembly elections could be held in 2016 instead of 2017 in view of "political uncertainty" prevailing in the state.
Replying to a question, Virbhadra Singh didn't rule out a Cabinet reshuffle before the Budget session however he said there could be no new induction as the permissible strength of 12 ministers is complete.
Expressing hope that Governor Acharya Dev Vrat would give assent to Sports Bill, the chief minister said he should either approve it or send it back to the government.
The Chief Minister confirmed that Additional Chief Secretary (Health), Vineet Chowdhary has asked for EOL (extra-ordinary leave) to join some private firm and his request is being considered.
However, the government requires experienced hands and his request would be considered keeping in view overall availability of senior officers.
