The 37-year-old star provided intimate insight about the death of her "The Fast and The Furious" co-star while speaking with producers of fresh factual film "The Reality of Truth", which released in February.
Discussing the experience she had while under the influence of psychedelic plant Ayahuasca, Rodriguez confessed on camera to being "jealous" Walker died before she did and when the film footage of her comments went viral this week, her admission sparked outrage in some fans.
But while speaking to a photographer in Beverly Hills, Rodriguez claimed her statement was blown out of proportion, reported TMZ.
Following Walker's passing in November 2013, many of his "Furious" franchise castmates spoke about their struggles to come to terms with his death.

And Rodriguez admitted she turned to psychedelics to help her cope with the loss.
"I have to say, you know, when I lost Paul, I went through about a year of just being an animal," Rodriguez says in footage from "The Reality of Truth" documentary.
"I did everything I could possibly do to hide from myself and I'll tell you that my ayahuasca trip made me sad that he left me here. It wasn't a sadness that he's gone, it's more like a jealousy that he's there first."
Rodriguez also revealed in the documentary that the Ayahuasca had led to her having an "awakening" and "brought the destruction of everything I've ever known.
