Myanmar national among 3 held with drugs worth Rs 50 crore

An international cartel of drugs supplier was busted with the arrest of its kingpin, a Myanmar national, and two members and seizure of 438kg contraband worth over Rs 50 crore from them, police said today.
One Sumit Kumar (22) was running a racket of supplying pseudoephedrine to prepare methamphetamine or crystal meth (Ice) for rave parties in Myanmar, they said.
He used to send the drugs from Delhi to northeastern states from where it was then smuggled into Myanmar.
On October 31, a team of Special Cell learnt that Kumar would be reaching the New Delhi railway station to make bookings for transporting "parcels" of the drugs to Guwahati.
Acting on this information, a trap was laid and Kumar was arrested with 340 kg of Pseudoephedrine.
During interrogation, he revealed that a Myanmar national Sum Mang alias Pa Mang alias Pa Sum was the kingpin of the racket.

Subsequently, Mang was arrested alongwith 96 kg of Pseudoephedrine from Vikaspuri here, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) P S Kushwah said.
Police also seized a fake Indian voter ID card and a PAN card from Mang along with a car and some cell phones.
The drug was being sent to Myanmar to prepare methamphetamine or crystal meth (Ice), which is sold between US Dollar 200 to 650 per gram all over the world for use specially in rave parties, the officer said.
Yesterday, a drug supplier, Sunil Goel alias Mukesh (51) was arrested from the road opposite Ramprastha in east Delhi with two kg of refined narcotic drug Pseudoephedrine, the officer added.
