Mystery shrouds around death of Cuttack Congress leader

Mystery shrouds over the death of Cuttack City Congress Committee general secretary Sanjit Bhuyan (35), who died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here late December 13 night after sustaining brutal injuries in his head, face, shoulder and abdomen.
The Police rescued an unconscious Bhuyan from the roadside near Purighat police station a little after midnight and was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital.
Later he was taken to a private hospital, he succumbed to the injuries.
While family members and city Congress leaders are alleging that Bhuyan was brutally murdered with lethal weapons by a group of miscreants, the police initially claimed the Congress leader died of an accident.

"Prima facie it appears to be a case of accident. But, we are investigating the case from all angles," said City DCP Sanjiv Arora adding, all inquest procedures were followed and a team of doctors conducted the post mortem.
The family members of the young leader have submitted a written complaint at the Purighat police station urging the police to make a thorough investigation into the death.
Similarly, a delegation of Congress leaders headed by city unit chief Md Moqim met the city DCP urging him to conduct an impartial inquiry into the death of Bhuyan.
