The scheme is based on Pradhan Mantri Gramsadak Yojana where local area development funds of MPs are utilised for road construction in rural areas.
According to a Maharashtra Government Resolution (GR) issued here last evening, NABARD head would mean additional funding to the state so that more money will flow in for developmental work.
This will enable the state government to get more funds for infrastructure work including construction of roads in remote areas and interiors parts of the state.
The report further stated that there are 1,45,879 km long roads that are known as village roads, which attacks maximum funding for its construction, repairs and other maintenance.
