As part of its ongoing "Journey of Common Hope," the Forum yesterday facilitated a meeting between senior functionaries of NSCN(I-M) and Khole-Kitovi led GPRN/NSCN at Dimapur.

NSCN Chairman Isak Swu, General Secretary Th. Muivah and GPRN/NSCN chief Khole Konyak and General Secretary N Kitovi Zhimomi were among those who attended the meeting.

However, leaders from NNC/FGN, another signatory to Naga Concordant of 2011, could not make it due to time constraint but expressed solidarity towards strengthening the Naga reconciliation process, the FNR said.

The Forum underscored the need to have further meetings soon.

As part of ongoing Naga peace talks, Isak Swu and Muivah came here from New Delhi to hold consultations with Naga tribal and civil society groups.

Both the Union Home Ministry and the NSCN(I-M) have indicated that they are trying hard to clinch a peace deal by early next year.

NSCN(I-M) had signed the ceasefire with the Centre in 1997 and since then political talks are going on for a permanent solution to the problem.
