Nagaland Board declares Class X, XII results

The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has declared the results for Class X and Class XII examination results for 2018.

NBSE conducted the High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSSLC) in March-April this year with 36,996 students appearing in the examinations, said a notification issued by NBSE Chairperson Asano Sekhose here today.

In HSLC, out of the 21,715 students, 14,335 cleared the exam with pass percentage to 66.01 per cent, a decrease of 4.18 per cent over last years pass percentage of 70.19.

Female candidate, Vivotsonuo Sorhie of Mezhr Higher Secondary School, Kohima, took the top position scoring 590 marks with 98.33 per cent.

Sherry Jindal of Holy Cross HSS,Dimapur and Raj Paul of Pranab Vidyapith HSS, Dimapur, stood second with a total of 587 marks at 97.83 per cent.

Leishembi Ng Lyting of Mezhr HSS, Kohima, stood third with total marks of 585 (97.50%) among the 20 toppers in Class X examinations.

In HSLC, out of the 233 government schools, 27 had zero pass percentage while among the 412 private schools, only 5 recorded nil pass percentage.

Altogether, 11 government schools have produced cent percent pass percentage with four of the schools having more than 10 students.

Out of the 37 students standing in the top 20 lists for the matriculation exam, the highest achievers are from Mezhr Higher Secondary School Kohima with a total of 9 toppers.

In the Class XII, HSSLC Arts stream, 11,339 appeared in the examination with 8,325 clearing it. The pass percentage stood at 73.42, a decrease of 3.86 over last years 77.28 per cent.

Benrithung L Jungio, with a total of 457 marks (91.40%) from Don Bosco HSS Wokha topped the stream.

In Commerce stream, 1,360 candidates sat for the examination while 1,003 passed with a pass percentage of 73.75 per cent, an increase of 2.83 per cent compared to last years 70.92 per cent.

Marina Yashmin with 486 total marks at 97.20 per cent from Pranab Vidyapith HSS, Dimapur stood at the top.

In HSSLC Science stream, 2,582 appeared the exams while 2,179 of them clearing it with pass percentage of 84.39 per cent, a decrease of 2.55 per cent.

The topper of science stream went to Virienuo Emilia Solo of Kohima Science College, Jotsoma with 458 total marks at 91.60 per cent.
