Launching the Pentavalent vaccine at a function here at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), Minister for Health and Family Welfare, P Longon said that pentavalent vaccine will now be a part of the government immunization programme available for every infant free of cost.
"Let us ensure that no child is denied any vaccine and let's work towards providing a healthy future for our children," he said.
He said the Pentavalent vaccine containing five vaccines is truly a benefit to children because it reduces the number of injection pricks a child receives from 6 pricks to 3 pricks with the benefit of an additional vaccine that protects the child against pneumonia and meningitis caused due to Haemophilus influenza type B.
