The award would be handed over during the Tigerland India Film Festival (TIFF) at a ceremony on August 26 in Bhopal.
TIFF was an initiative for promoting wildlife conservation and awareness through visual media, said its Director Abhinandan Shukla.
He said the work of the Nagaland Forest Department under the leadership of Rao towards conservation of Amur Falcons has been acknowledged and appreciated by national and international media.
Conservation of Amur Falcons by the department in coordination with the authorities of Pangti village has been a great success story in the field of wildlife conservation and has earned the title 'Falcon Capital of the World' for the state of Nagaland, he said.
The Tigerland India Film Festival was an annual event and was being organised by the Society for Tigerland Conservation, he said adding, the festival not only spreads the message of conservation far and wide, but also carries forward the special place and role of India as a prime tourist destination for wildlife lovers and enthusiasts in the world.
