"We have certain differences with neighbouring states like Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland regarding boundary demarcation and we should wait for the Supreme Court directive on the issue," Gogoi told reporters here.

The Chief Minister said that these issues come to fore during elections and since assembly elections are scheduled in Nagaland and Meghalaya next year, the boundary dispute has raised its head again.

"We do not want anybody's land and the neighbouring states should maintain a similar stand and not encroach into Assam's land," he added.

Nagaland has allegedly encroached several acres of land in Gaurbasti area of Golaghat district where Assamese villagers ploughed the field following which six organisations of Assam have called an indefinite economic blockade of Nagaland which entered the fifth day today.

Protesters from various outfits, which include Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) and the All Tea Tribes Students' Union, among others, have extended the blockade to two more roads since yesterday.
