All the 1128 villages in Nagaland will become open defecation free (ODF) by March 2018 and 246 of them have already reached the mark, Chief Engineer of Public Health Engineering Department, Nagaland, Kevisekho Kruse said today.

Governor P B Acharya, he said, has appointed nine brand ambassadors to take the movement forward in the state and make it a peoples' movement.
Brand Ambassador of Nagaland Swachh Bharat Mission, Supongmeren Jamir called upon the people of the state to extend their support for achieving the goal of clean India.
Unless the citizens cultivate the habit of keeping their own surroundings, offices, schools and business establishments clean and healthy, it will be difficult to achieve the target, he said.
