Nagarjuna Agrichem workers agitate over bonus payment

Nagarjuna Agrichem today said a section of employees at its Srikakulam factory is agitating for payment of maximum bonus and the company is taking all steps to avert any impact on production.
In a filing to BSE, Nagarjuna Agrichem said "a section of employees belonging to workmen category of Nagarjuna Agrichem factory located at Arinama Akkivalasa, Etcherla Mandal, Srikakulam, are agitating since October 29, 2016, for payment of maximum bonus for 2015-16".
"The company has paid bonus to all the eligible employees as per the provision of the Payment of Bonus Act, 1965," the Hyderabad-based company said.
The management is taking all necessary steps to avert any impact on the production and is hopeful of resolving the issue soon and restoring normalcy, Nagarjuna Agrichem said.
The company has the technical manufacturing plant in Srikakulam, 100 kms away from Visakhapatnam, a leading port in South India, with capacity to manufacture 7,500 metric tonnes per annum.
There are six manufacturing blocks engaged in producing insecticides, fungicides, herbicides and fine chemicals.
