Nagpur goon lynching case: all including five women acquitted

A local court today acquitted all the 18 accused in the case related to the killing of a notorious goon in the courtroom here in August 2004.
Akku Yadav, a history-sheeter who was facing 28 criminal offences and had allegedly become nuisance for the people in Kasturba Nagar area, was lynched by an angry mob in the courtroom on August 13, 2004.
The incident took place when the police brought Yadav to the court in connection with a case against him.
As many as 21 persons, including seven women, were accused in the case. Three of them died during the trial.
Today sessions Judge V T Suryawanshi acquitted all the 18 accused ,including five women , for lack of evidence.
