Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu has taken up with his two ministerial colleagues the issue of implementation of three per cent reservation in government jobs for persons with disabilities.
Naidu has taken up the issue with Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Tawarchand Gehlot and Minister of State for Personal and Training Jitendra Singh after a delegation of the All India Disabled Rights Forum and the Hellen Keller Regional Association of Disabled met him seeking immediate implementation of the benefit.
According to a close aide of Naidu, the delegation referred to the Supreme Court order of 2013 and sought implementation of reservation for the differently-abled at the earliest.
Naidu discussed the issue with his cabinet colleagues for doing the needful so that the central and state/UT governments comply with the direction of the Supreme Court.
