Senior BJP leader and Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today condemned the recent murder of a Hindu Munnani leader in Chennai and urged the Tamil Nadu government to bring the culprits to justice.
"Unfortunately, there was a serious incident that happened yesterday to Suresh Kumar. Our Hindu Munnani worker was murdered brutally. BJP strongly condemns the attack. I would like the state government to understand and investigate that there seems to be a pattern behind these incidents," the Union Housing and Urban Development Minister told reporters here.
Naidu said, "What happened in Salem, in Madurai and in Vellore, there seems to be a pattern. The state government must go deep into the pattern and see to it that who are these forces, who are these persons. Strongest, quickest action should be taken by the state government, because law and order is the state subject."
Observing that states were equal partners in the country's development, he said, "Tamil Nadu is part of Team India. That is the approach of the Prime Minister. That is the thinking of the NDA government, the thinking of the BJP."
The Minister said the all states would be taken on board without differentiating on political colours.
"AIADMK might not have had alliance with the BJP. But that is not a consideration. We want to take Tamil Nadu with us and extend all the efforts they deserve, as per the Constitution and as per the agreed formula."
