TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu
today met JD(U) president Sharad Yadav amid plans to hold a national meeting of non-Congress and non-BJP parties in October ahead of the next Lok Sabha elections.
Yadav declined to reveal what transpired during his meeting with Naidu.
The meeting comes two days after CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat met the JD(U) President and is learnt to have discussed plans to bring "secular forces" on one platform.
Sources said that there is a plan to bring maximum number of political parties, who are neither part of NDA nor the UPA, together and hold a national meeting here next month.
JD(U), which was part of the NDA, had walked out of the BJP on June 16 snapping its 17-year old ties with the party in protest against the elevation of Narendra Modi as that party's campaign committee chief.
