Naidu meets Rajnath, discusses special status for Andhra

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed various issues including special status for his state in accordance with the AP Reorganisation Act.
According to sources, Naidu also discussed police modernisation and new capital city for Andhra Pradesh.
The state government plans to develop a river-front capital on the banks of the Krishna river in the Vijayawada-Guntur region.
Andhra Pradesh government will lay the foundation stone for building its capital city in the first week of June.
Currently, the state government shares Hyderabad as its capital with Telangana as per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
Later, Naidu also called on Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.
