Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu today had an emotional moment as he recalled his late mother at a photography awards function here.
"I wish I had a picture of my mother whom I never saw," Information and Broadcasting Minister Naidu said as he became emotional.
Naidu shared his perspective about importance of pictures by citing an example from his life.
"People always tell me my mother had a fair complexion and she was 5ft 10 inches tall. But I always feel I miss something. I wish to have had a picture of my mother whom I lost when I was one-and-a-half years old," he said.
Naidu also distributed lifetime achievement awards to photojournalist Raghu Rai and other photographers from across the country at the 6th National Photography Awards organised by Photo Division of his ministry.
He also recalled how in 1984 awardee Rai's photos helped in proving the presence of Andhra Pradesh MLAs in Delhi, when some fake MLAs were deployed in Hyderabad by rivals.

"On the advise of the BJP leader L K Advani, we got the help of Raghu Rai who clicked our pictures which were sent to the governor to prove our presence in Delhi," he said.
Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore was also present on the occasion.
