Naidu seeks Centre's support for development of Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today sought support of the Centre for comprehensive development of the state.
NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Arvind Panagariya met Naidu here today after conducting field visits to some primary health centers, PDS depots to personally assess the implementation and progress of various welfare schemes by the Andhra Pradesh government, an official release said.
Naidu explained that the state has plenty of natural resources like land, water but it needs Center's support for the comprehensive development, it added.
The Chief Minister also said the development can only be achieved from co-operation of the neighbouring states and the Union government.
He said the state has crossed hurdle of electricity cuts and become one of the power surplus states, the release added.
Naidu explained that the state government proposes to develop some new ports to the existing ports to transform AP as a logistic hub in the east coast.
In this context, Naidu appealed Panagariya to support AP in getting more investments from foreign countries, it added.
