Congress MP V Hanumantha Rao today said the N Chandrababu Naidu government in Andhra Pradesh would be held "responsible" if any disturbance takes place during the visit of party vice-president Rahul Gandhi to the state on July 24.
"If anything happens, he(Gandhi) is a national leader. So, we will not also keep quite. So, I am appealing to Chandrababu Naidu not to create any problem... ," Rao, a Rajya Sabha MP from Telangana said.
Alleging that a TDP MLA has threatened to stop Gandhi from participating in a padayatra at Ananthapur, Rao said that the Congress Vice President would tour the district in Andhra Pradesh to see the plight of the farmers.
"Unnecessarily, that MLA is threatening. So, I am appealing to Chandrababu Naidu not to create any nuisance. If you make nuisance, the situation will be worse," Rao said.
"If anything happens your government is responsible," he added.
Rao further said that Gandhi's visit would be helpful to highlight the fate of farmers in Parliament.
