NALCO bags CAPEXIL's Highest Export Award

State-run Nalco has been awarded by the Ministry of Commerce for its its outstanding export performance in processed mineral category for the year 2012-13.
The Navaratna was awarded with the Highest Export Award of Chemical and Allied Products Export Promotion Council (CAPEXIL), reinforcing its formidable presence in international market, an official release said.

Hobby class curator FindUrClass raises fresh funding
* Findurclass, an extra-curricular activity and hobby class curation startup, has raised a second round of funding from investors, including members of VentureNursery.

Angel investors who participated in the round include Amit Patni, Anirudh Damani and Samir Shah, it said in a statement.
The additional funds will be used to scale up and expand to other tier I cities.
The company recently expanded to Pune and Bangalore.
Since its launch in March 2015, the hobby class curator has over 100 categories including art and craft, sports and adventure, singing, cooking and photography listed on its platform.

Tom Kendra appointed to Board of Persistent Systems * IT firm Persistent Systems today said it has appointed industry veteran Tom Kendra to its board of directors.

Kendra recently retired from Dell's Software group where he was Vice President and General Manager of the Systems Management business.
"We are delighted to have Tom Kendra join our board. His extensive experience in senior leadership positions in leading Companies in the software industry across the world will significantly strengthen our Board," Persistent Systems CMD Anand Deshpande said.
Prior to Dell, Kendra has worked with CA Technologies, Symantec Corporation, IBM and Pareto Networks.

Avaya appoints Vishal Agrawal as MD for India and SAARC * Business communications solutions provider Avaya today said it has appointed Vishal Agrawal as the Managing Director of its India and SAARC operations.

Agrawal will focus on aligning Avaya more closely with India's digital transformation initiative, Avaya said in a statement.
During his over 10 years at Avaya, Agrawal has played a critical role in the company's development in India, scaling the India services operations, setting up the operations leadership team and driving revenue growth, it added.

* Swedish startup Allone has launched an app aimed at offering security to users.
The app turns a user's smartphone into a safety alarm. It has been launched in 13 languages including Swedish, Spanish, Portuguese, Danish, Norwegian and Turkish, Baltic and Thai.

* ICICI Lombard General Insurance today launched an initiative - 'Healthcare Advisor' - to help consumers taking informed decisions before choosing a healthcare provider or treatment.
The initiative is a web enabled platform that allows consumers to get answers to critical questions including cost of procedure pertaining to healthcare providers and treatment beforehand.
"To begin with we have launched the facility for the people living in the 10 cities and 1,000 hospitals have already participated in the initiative," ICICI Lombard General Insurance MD and Chief Executive Bhargav Dasgupta told reporters in Mumbai.

Entertainment Network (India) begins operation in Guwahati * Entertainment Network (India) Ltd which runs private FM radio channel Radio Mirchi today said that it has commenced broadcast from its radio station at Guwahati.

"With launch of this station, the company has launched the first station acquired under batch 1 auctions of Phase-3. This is an important milestone for the company," said Entertainment Network (India) Ltd (ENIL).
ENIL is promoted by Bennett, Coleman & Co Ltd, which publishes dailies Times of India, Economic Times and Navbharat Times.
On September 16 last year ENIL had informed that the comnpany has bagged seven cities in the phase III auctions of the FM radio station by the governemnt.

Suzlon Energy to transfer entire equity in SGWPL * Board of Suzlon Energy has approved transfer of entire equity in its arm Suzlon Gujarat Wind Park Ltd (SGWPL) to Suzlon Power Infrastructure Ltd (SPIL).

"The Board of Directors of the company approved transfer of entire equity shareholding in SGWPL to SPIL," Suzlon Energy Ltd has informed BSE today.
According to statement, pursuant to this transfer, SGWPL would become a wholly-owned subsidiary of SPIL and would continue to be a step down wholly-owned subsidiary of the company.
The board has also approved transfer of entire 98 per cent equity shareholding in Suzlon Global Services Ltd (SGSL) to Suzlon Structures Limited (SSL), another wholly-owned subsidiary of the company.
