NALCO takes legal action against complainants for making false
Press Trust of India Bhubaneswar Aluminium major NALCO has initiated legal action against two complainants, as per the advice of Central Vigilance Commission, for allegedly making false allegations against officials of the Navaratna PSU.
The legal step was initiated recently after a letter from the Union Ministry of Mines informed the company that CVC had advised to take action against the two persons who were in the habit of making "incorrect" allegations against officials of NALCO, company officials said.
The company referred the matter for legal advice and as per the advice a case was filed against the two persons before a court in Bhubaneswar recently, they said.
As per the provisions of law and rules, complainants making false allegations are liable for prosecution under section 195(1)(a) of CrPC for commission of offence under section 182/34 of IPC, punishable with imprisonment of six months, the officials said.
