Nand Nagri death: DCW chief meets family of man

DCW chief Swati Maliwal today met the family of a man who died under "mysterious" circumstances while being taken to a police station in northeast Delhi's Nand Nagri area after he tried to intervene in a road-side scuffle between a couple.
"Maliwal today met the family members of Shanu Shahnawaz Chaudhary (35) at their home and also heard out his wife.
A DCW official said Maliwal was likely to write to Delhi police seeking to know as to why the victim's wife was allegedly made to stay at police station till late night.
The Delhi government has already ordered a magisterial inquiry into the case.

According to sources, the District Magistrate probing the case has suspected "use of force" by the cops. They said the government is likely to seek registration of an FIR in this regard.
