He said when Congress was in power here 20 kg rice was available regularly to cardholders free of cost. They had then also supplied wheat free of cost at five kg a card.
He recalled that AINRC in its 2011 poll manifesto had promised it would supply 30 kg free rice to cardholders if elected to power. This was not adhered to and only 10 kg rice was available free of cost.This was also implemented for a few months only and the scheme was kept in abeyance, he said in a release here today.
He opposed the scheme's modification announced by the CM envisaging Rs 300 disbursement per family, instead of 10 kg rice.
He also took exception to the decision to supply laptops to students of plus two Class who had passed out in 2013-2014 though there was a promise in AINRC poll manifesto that laptops would be available for class XI and XII students.
"We will write to the Union Home Minister to order a probe into the scams in purchase of equipment for electricity department,' he said.
