Carlos Munoz Portal, 47, was shot to death on September 11 in a violent region in central Mexico while scouting for season four of the Netflix original series.
Pascal, 42, who plays DEA agent Javier Pena in the popular drug drama, said producers would now need to find a way to keep the show's staff safe, reported TMZ.com.
He described Portal's death as "tragic" and said, "Well they can't do it (show) if it's not safe. We are talking about lives. If they want to do it, they'll figure it out in a safe way."
"Narcos" originally chronicled the rise and fall of the notorious Colombian drug lord, Pablo Escobar.

Following Portal's murder, Escobar's brother, Roberto De Jesus Escobar Gaviria, suggested the show should hire hitmen of its own to continue filming its fourth series.
The fourth installment of the show is said to explore the origins of Mexico's infamous Juarez cartel, just as season three focused on the rise and fall of Colombias Cali cartel and heralded the shift of the drug wars to Mexico.
