Hot weather conditions continue to prevail in most parts of Punjab and Haryana with Narnaul recording a high of 46.5 degrees Celsius, five degrees above normal.
UT Chandigarh, joint capital of both states, recorded a maximum temperature of 38.3 degrees Celsius.
Among other places in Haryana, Hisar experienced hot weather conditions at 46 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal while Bhiwani recorded a high of 45.1 degrees Celsius.
Ambala and Karnal recorded maximum temperatures at 37.4 and 37 degrees Celsius, respectively.
In Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum temperatures at 42.3, 41.7 and 39.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.
