NASSCOM, which has developed 'Qualification Packs' (skills required for industry), is trying to support Telangana government in the initiative, aimed at helping 15,000 students from 325 colleges in the new state to make them industry- ready, its Vice-Chairman BVR Mohan Reddy said.
Observing that there is a gap between the skill sets imparted by academic institutions to students and industry requirements, he said the 'packs' are aimed at bridging that gap.
Hoping that the employability of Telangana students would enhance with the initiative, JNTUH Vice Chancellor in-charge Sailaja Ramaiyer said as part of the pilot project, three major job roles, security analyst, data analytics and design engineer would be implemented.
State IT Minister K T Rama Rao said the initiative is part of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's directives to check that quality of education in the state improves.
