Twenty-two candidates out of more than 10,000 applicants have been selected for coveted technology and management posts in the NATGRID, the country's ambitious counter-terror mechanism envisaged post 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
"These are all highly dedicated professionals and are from diverse backgrounds. In the final selections, we have some professionals who have left well placed jobs to join the NATGRID," National Intelligence Grid (NATGRID) Chief Executive Officer Raghu Raman told PTI.
The technology driven security mission, which has begun its operations recently, had in May this year advertised for 29 specific posts for "high calibre" professionals on a monthly remuneration ranging between Rs 85,000 and Rs three lakh.
The CEO said that the selection process for recruiting manpower for the beacon security project has been kept very strict and competitive.
"More than 10,000 people had applied in response to NATGRID's advertisement of hiring select professionals. I am happy to say we have chosen 22 while the rest will be inducted in some more time," Raman, who had a long stint in private sector specialised services before being chosen to head NATGRID, said.
A total of 29 posts like Head (Information Security), Head (Strategy Implementation), Head (Solutions Delivery), Enterprise Architect (Security), Analyst, Chief of Technology (IT capability and Development Support), Project Manager (Non-IT Infrastructure) and Talent Acquisition and Engagement Lead were advertised by the government for hiring by NATGRID as consultants for a period of one year initially.
The maximum posts have a remuneration of more than Rs one lakh per month.
