Singh told Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki that considering the high potential of the state and its scenic attributes, the government has sanctioned the film institute in the state.
This came amidst ongoing controversy in Pune's Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) where students have been protesting over the appointment of Gajendra Chauhan as Chairman.
Singh, Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region, assured Tuki at a meeting here that the central government would provide maximum central assistance in every possible way to expedite various development works in the state, an official release said.
The Union Minister said Rs 30 crore and Rs 25 crore respectively was the estimated budget for construction of RCC bridge over river Pachin connecting ISBT to Naharlagun railway station and for road connectivity in the capital complex with by-pass roads.
